The two well-studied fungal extracellular enzymes, cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) and lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase (LPMO), have been shown to increase cellulose degradation. Although it is commonly accepted that this effect is due to a direct contact between the two enzymes, it is still not exactly known how and where the two proteins interact. My research is currently focusing on narrowing down the interaction region on selected LPMOs and filtering out possible docking poses by using the HADDOCK docking tool and the GROMOS MD software package.
